Joe Cox
Assistant Coach
Joe Cox enters his first season as the interim head coach of the water polo teams in the spring of 2024 after serving as the assistant coach of the men’s water polo team in the fall of 2023. Cox competed for the Occidental men’s water polo team from 2017 to 2021 and was a three-year captain from 2019-2022. Cox’s senior season was the inaugural season in the De Mandel Aquatics Center, where he led the men’s team to their most successful season since 2008 at the time. At Occidental, Cox graduated in 2022 with a B.A. in Diplomacy and World Affairs. Additionally, Cox spent three seasons as an assistant coach for the Rose Bowl Water Polo Cub 14U boys teams from 2018-2022. In high school, he competed for Walt Whitman High School in Bethesda, Maryland, and Capital Water Polo Club in Washington DC.
